7 years ago, I graduated from High School and was thrust out into the "real world" full of credit cards and student loans. I had a few student loans and 3 credit cards. Of course I took all 3 of those beautiful pieces of plastic and MAXED them out as soon as I got them and then NEVER paid a cent towards them. I then proceeded to drop out of school and NEVER paid on my student loan. It wasn't until I met my husband-to-be that I (more like he) paid all the debt.
4 years ago...I was finally debt free. Every cent that was owed to somebody else was paid in full and it was time to move on with life. I didn't realize that even though everything was paid my credit was still shot. If you have no credit you can pretty much kiss thoughts of buying a house good bye.
Today, Jake and I have been busting our butts to fix our credit for the past two years. We had a chance to lease purchase a house a few years ago and we did live in the house for a year and half but it didn't work out. I'm so glad it didn't work out because today we have put an offer in on a much nicer, better, wonderful, dream house that we will buy without leasing and will be ours as soon as papers are signed. Now just because the offer is in doesn't mean it's ours we are still waiting to hear back but the really exciting thing is that after a lot of hard work Jake and I have fixed our credit and that my friends is the amazing thing.
Kenzie Lynn will be taught at a very young age that if you want to do anything with your life you HAVE to have great credit.
