Happy Three Months

Cakes is THREE MONTHS OLD!

How did this happen? I feel like time is FLYING by. I don't know if it's because we stay busy 24/7 or if it really is true that the older you get the faster time goes. I honestly cannot believe its November...I feel like I just found out I was pregnant with Maci. Holy Cow

Cakes is the sweetest little baby in the entire world. She literally only cries when she is hungry or has a dirty diaper. She goes to bed at 8:00 and sleeps until 7:00. Even when she was sick she never woke up at night. She is for sure a daddy's girl, she prefers Jake over me every time. Its ok because Kenzie Lynn is a mama's girl hands down. Cakes is a little chunker...she LOVES LOVES LOVES to eat. Even when she had the stomach bug she would try to eat and then puke it all up. She never turns a bottle down even if she isn't hungry. With Kenz it was a challenge to get her to eat, Maci loves it.

I just love them so much!

Broken Arms and Best Mommy Ever Awards

Jake is obsessed with fishing. That's right people....I married a real life red neck. He didn't used to be this "red necky" I place the blame on Duck Dynasty and Uncle Si! NAW....SHE GONE!

While away on one of his boys only fishing trips for the weekend, I decided to have a girls night with all of us ladies who husbands/fiancé's/boyfriends went on this trip. The tiny humans would have a big sleep over in Kenzie's room and watch movies all night and the rest of us were going to watch chick flicks down stairs with lots of yummy dips and fatty foods. Sounds like fun huh? WRONG

Kenzie and Natalie were upstairs playing, Maci was in her swing sleeping and I was in the kitchen cooking when all of the sudden I heard that heart dropping, stomach churning, blood curdling scream and then silence. I ran to the bottom of the stairs and yelled WHAT'S WRONG? Kenzie and Natalie both come running down the stairs while Kenzie is holding her arm and crying. She tells me that she was jumping off her laundry basket (tall wicker laundry basket) and landed on her arm. I told her to bend her arm, which she did and then I yelled at her and told her to lay on the couch and stop horsing around. I gave her an ice pack and turned a movie on for her to watch. She continued to cry on the couch and eventually woke up Maci. I turned around to yell again when I noticed that her entire body was shaking. I asked is she was cold and all she could get out was NO...MOMMY IT HURTS!

I then realized my child probably broke her arm. I called Lacie (who was at the store getting stuff for our girls night) explained what happened and told her to get to my house ASAP so I could take Kenzie to an Urgent Care. Once she got to my house probably 10 minutes later (felt like 5 hours...screaming Kenzie, screaming Maci and crying Natalie is a lot to take on all at once) I scooped up Kenzie threw her into my car and took off. Once we got there they took us right back and did x-rays. The x-ray showed that she broke her elbow and would need to be in a cast. Kenzie was so so brave the entire time and my Mother in law was a saint to meet me there and do all the hard parts like straightening Kenzie's arm out so they could get an x-ray. I had Kenzie on my lap and silently sobbed...Margie kept a straight face and did everything the tech asked her to do. The doctor came in and put a soft cast on and told us on Monday we needed to go to the Pediatric Orthopedic Doctor.

Side note....Jake was fishing where there was NO service. He didn't even know any of this happened til about 9:00 that night.

On Monday we went to the doctor and her arm was still to swollen to out a hard cast on so they told us to come back that Friday. Kenzie was a champ all week with being really careful not to move her arm around that much. On Friday, we went and she got a pink camo cast because camo is her cousin Caleb's favorite color and she wanted him to think her cast was cool. She also was very excited that she matched Uncle Cody who broke his foot the week earlier. She got tons of signatures and my uncle even had his wife and kids sign medical tape and sent it to her in the mail so they could be a part of signing her cast.

All in all, she had her soft cast on for a week and the hard cast for 3 weeks. Once that sucker came off I was so glad.

The award for BEST MOMMY EVER goes to.....KENDRA CORLEY...for yelling at her 5 year old right after she broke her arm! AHHHH..you win some and you loose some and that time I for sure LOST!

100th Post

I am so excited that my 100th post is all about my three favorite people in the entire world...

Kenzie Lynn started KINDERGARTEN on August, 8 2013.  How in the world is my tiny human old enough to start Kindergarten? I honestly feel like it was just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with her. She was so excited to start "big girl" school and even more excited to finally be able to wear her new dress and leggings we had bought a few weeks earlier. Jake and I were able to walk her into her classroom and kiss her goodbye.  Not going to lie, I cried. In my defense, I was super pregnant (scheduled to be induced the next day pregnant) and emotional. When we picked her up from school she was very happy to report that she had an amazing day and loved school. I am happy to announce that she still loves school just as much maybe even more. She is my little book worm and is amazed that she is starting to learn to read on her own. Our days are filled with helping her sound out words and helping her spell them. After her first parent teacher conference we have learned that Kenz is quite the social butterfly and somehow has managed to make friends with the entire school.  Her teacher says that they can't walk down the hall without a few older children walking up to her and hugging her. She also loves learning and making sure the other children are doing what they are supposed to do. She amazes Jake and I every day with how smart and wonderful she is. I'm so happy that she was blessed with Uncle Michael's brain.

Maci Evan was born on August 9,2013.  I went into the hospital at 7:00 that morning expecting to be induced but when they hooked me up to the monitors, I was having contractions two minutes apart on my own.  The midwife went ahead and broke my water at about 8:00 and Maci was born at 12:46 that afternoon. Labor and delivery was a lot harder this time around, very very painful but I had the most awesome nurse in the entire world and a very supportive husband by my side at all times. She was perfect from the second she came out. 7.9 lbs and 20.5 inches long. She looked exactly like Kenzie did was she was born, so much so that it was kind of creepy in a doppleganger kind of way. Our stay at the hospital is a blur. We had visitors all day everyday. My two children are very loved by a ton of people and I am so lucky to have so many close family and friends

Since coming home, Maci has been a little angle baby.  How we got so lucky, I have no idea. We never went through the whole newborn up all night phase. She literally has slept through the whole night since day one. She cries only when she is hungry and it's not really a cry, more like a scream to make sure we all know she is ready to eat. Once that bottle is in her mouth, she is a very happy girl. I was really worried about the age difference between Kenzie and Maci and how that would play out. It has been awesome, Kenzie loves helping and Maci is obsessed with her big sister.

Jake has been doing really well as well.  His company has really taken off recently and the work keeps pouring in. He loves what he does and is really good at it. I made him shave his head recently, it was time. His hair was starting to resemble Bozo the Clowns so I sat him down for "the talk". It took him about a week to come to grips with the situation but he finally agreed with me. I LOVE IT.

At the end of August, I was able to go to Court's wedding.  I was supposed to be a bridesmaid but couldn't because the wedding was so close to Maci's due date. I was so excited to I got to go. It has been since 2005 that I was in Seattle last. Court was beautiful and I am so happy for her and Nich. We all knew that they would fall in love and get married one day...just took them a little longer to figure it out.

I am so happy our little family of four is complete now. It's crazy how much things have changed in just 9 weeks. I can't imagine life without our little Maci Cakes. Poor Jake, a house full of girls but I really don't think he would have it any other way.

HI BABY!

Easter

Easter this year was chaotic as usual!  We woke up, went to church and then went to my parents house, Jake's Grandma's and then his Mom's house.  Our annual egg hunt was kinda rained out...we did it under a covered garage but that really is not the same as doing it in the yard.  By the end of the night I was exhausted so my wonderful Sister-in-law let Kenzie spend the night with her.  Have I mentioned this lady is a saint?!?  I love Easter, it's always such a fun day spent with people who you love.

18 Weeks and the Color Run

I'm 18 weeks and my bump finally decided to form!

                                                                       HI BABY

This past weekend Kenzie, Kim, my Mom and I went up to North Carolina to do the Color Run in Winston! It was a blast!!  Mom ditched us as soon as we got there to hang out with her best friend Vanessa but Kenz, Kim and I stayed at a hotel right by the fair grounds that night.  Then the next morning we got up and did our little race.  My cousin Adam (who is my BFF) meet us there and did it with us and of course Carrie was there too.

After the race Kenzie with my aunt Sharon and Uncle Ed for the night so I went home with Carrie. Our pregnant butts literally went to her couches and didn't move til it was time to get some Maxie B's. Best cake and cupcakes ever! Then the next morning we met up at IHop...ate breakfast and then went home so I could spend some time with Lacie for her birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACIE SIMONE...love your guts!

16 WEEKS

How Far Along:  16 Weeks, 1 Day

Total Weight Gain:  -12 Pounds...yes I understand the point is to try and gain weight but this baby hates food!  Don't worry the last two appointments I have been yelled at...THANKS DR.L

Maternity Clothes:  Nope...I don't even look pregnant...just look like a very tired, unattractive, non-showered lady who doesn't care about what I look like at all!

Strech Marks:  Just the leftovers from Kenzie Lynn (that pregnancy was a 60 pound weight gain...lets pray for everybodys sake that isn't the case this time around)

Sleep:  Depends on the day...I am a stomach sleeper and I'm at that point where its uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach SO sometimes I will wake up because I ended up on my stomach.

Best Moment this Week:  Seeing Kenzie's reaction to finding out she was going to have a little sister! Too Cute

Miss Anything:  Sleeping on my stomach

Movement:  Not yet...this baby likes to just hang out with her arms behind her head and her little legs streched out in front of her...like she is sleeping in a hammock

Food Cravings:  Baked Potatoe

Anything Make You Queasy or Sick:  Everything

Gender:  GIRL

Labor Signs:  No and lets keep it that way pretty please

Symptoms:  I'm tired no matter how much sleep I get, I cry at the drop of the hat, and I have NO patience

**I understand that I am supposed to post a picture BUT for your sake as well as mine (I didn't shower today) I will skip this step until I start to look pregnant (or showered)

IT'S A....

My beautiful Sister-In-Law has been a saint during my pregnancy...well she is a saint either way but she really has been my shoulder to run to for everything.  I feel like I am probably the luckiest girl in the world when it comes to in-laws, I honeslty love them to death.

Back to Tonya! So she knows I am the most anxious person in the world and that I didn't want to wait til I was 20 weeks to find out what we were having...so we looked up ultra sound places in our area and made an appointment to find out when I was 15 weeks.  Then she had the awesome idea to throw a gender party.  Back 5 years ago when I was pregnant with Kenz there was no such thing as a Gender Party so of course this time around we had to do it! We came up with the box theory (thanks pinterest) and we sent out invites and then had to wait.

My day FINALLY came and I was so sick all day! When the time came Jake, Tonya and I went to the place and found out we were having a GIRL!! Not gonna lie, I cried.  I wanted a boy so badly and I knew this was my last pregnancy (my uterus is going into retirement at the ripe age of 25) but after some tears and a pep-talk from Saint Tonya and Carrie I felt better.  (Seriously....so excited for another girl....hello headbands, tutus, and matching outfits)

Our party was so fun....everybody that was invited came to show us support.  We were surrounded by friends and family and Kenzie was in heaven the entire night.  So weird...the entire pregnancy she has said she wanted a brother but that night she said she changed her mind and really wanted a sister. (She had no idea)

When it came time to open our box Kenzie opened it up and out came like 15 pink balloons.  Everybody started to cheer and laugh and hug.  It really was such a fun night.

**The little red-head is Lawson....he wishes he was a Corley...he loves us more than he loves his own parents and thats why he is in most of our pictures! Just Kidding he is just obsessed with Jake and has to be with Jake anytime he is around.

In other news...Carrie Lynn is having a GIRL too! UHMM my cousin Adam literally just texted me and said "did you and Carrie plan this on purpose...it's kinda weird" My response...We make such a perfect pair for friends, God wanted our kids to be BFF just like us so that our friendship will last for generations to come!

OLD MAN!!

This is two days late but oh well.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE EVAN!!

Jake turned 27 on Wednesday....he is so old.  I feel like he is older because his hair is gray and he is balding BUT we still love him.

I feel bad, every year we go big for Birthdays, except this one. I think Jake was thinking I had something up my sleeve when I told him not to be disappointed when he didn't have anything to open OR a big surprise.  He wants these clutch cables for his Harley obviously I don't speak Harley so I kept telling him to literally show me what he was talking about.  He has been slammed with work so he never got around to it which means he had nothing to open on his birthday.  Its two days later and I still have no idea what I am supposed to order...poor guy is gonna have to go and buy them himself. LAME-O WIFE OF THE YEAR AWARD GOES TO ME!

To make things worse, I didn't even plan his party.  I'm just not my usual organzied self lately.  Good thing I have great friends to remind me about things and Jake's friends are even better.  He is having a bon fire on Saturday night to celebrate...red neck style.

Anyways...BABE I love you so much and even though there are days we want to kill each other just know that I wouldn't have you any other way. You're my best friend, and the BEST hubs ever! Love you sexy pants!

**If taking a picture is not Kenzie's idea, this is what we end up with!

Baby Squish

                                                                                      (SQUISH at 8 weeks)

PREGNANCY UPDATE:

Squish HATES when I eat food...literally...in fact HATE isn't a strong enough word...squish gets pissed when I eat anything.  I kept saying OHHH it will be better once I hit the magical week 12 but guess what I'm almost 13 weeks and it hasn't been so magical yet.  I can't complain, Carrie has it 45289756265736 times worse than me but she is a BAD ASS and can handle that type of stuff...me not so much, my life full of nausea and vomit has reduced me to tears and made me loose 14 pounds!

My love for all things soda is gone (for which I am SO grateful).  Just hearing a can crack open sends me to the thrown of glory and Kenzie knows when I start running Mommy needs a wet rag and ICE water.  Yes people, my four year old pats my back and holds my hair as I throw up telling me it's going to be ok.

My hormones are INSANE! I think about anything happy or sad and I cry cry cry.  Everyday, somebody in my life gets an insanely sappy text message with me telling them how much I love them.  I'm sure they have the local looney bin on speed dial.

Even though its been hard, I am so happy to be pregnant again and wouldn't change it for the world.  Kenzie is so excited to be a big sister and tells everybody that Mommy and Daddy are having a baby.

We find out what we are having on Feb. 25 and I will be sure to put tons of pictures of the gender reveal party on my post about it!

YAY for babies

First Blog in Almost A Year

If I had to sum up my life the past year, I think the word that fits it best is...

CHAOTIC(my BFF Britney has a song titled Chaotic so of course its perfect for me)

Chaos isn't always a bad thing...I feel like a little bit of chaos is good.

1. Jake started his own company...All Phase Construction and Mechanical.  He is doing really really well.  His mom and dad did a wonderful job raising him with the work ethic of a mule horse.  Seriously, there are days I look at the man is awe, because there is NO WAY I would/could have the patience he has.  He is INSANE when it comes to business and running his.

2. I went back to school (for the 35463164131 time).  This time I went with a different attitude and decided it needed to be for me and nobody else.  History is a passion of mine...I love reading, talking, thinking and preaching about it.  So it just makes sense for me to get my degree in social science education.  I want a job where I can enjoy going to work every morning.  I started observing in an 11th grade US History class and fell in love.  I was at home and knew this is what I needed to do.

3. Kenzie turned 4....WHAT??  My child is 4.  I remember that fateful morning that I peed on that little white stick and two lines showed up.  How was that so long ago?  Kenzie is a spit fire and I wouldn't have her any other way.  She knows what she wants and goes for it.  CRAZY SMART...sometimes I feel like she is smarter than me...she can thank my brother Michael for that she got whatever genious genes that he got.

4. We moved AGAIN....ugh over it (and will be moving again in about 6 months) For 6 months last year we tried and tried to buy a house.  We found three homes we loved and for whatever reason all three fell through.  First, was a short sale that was taking millions of years to close on.  Second was a home where the homeowners were not willing to budge a cent and then wanted to rent their home from us for a month or two (uhmmm crazy much? NO) and the Third was the best...foreclosure amazing home everything we wanted and we ended up in a biding war with somebody else and the bank went with the other offer.  I was heartbroken and gave up on buying a house...too much stress.

5. Had a crazy crazy summer.  I feel like it was so crazy that it went by in a blur and then it was fall.

6. Kenzie started Pre-K.  My little baby girl is not so little anymore.

7. My Grandma passed away.  She was so sick and it was time but we still miss her like crazy.  Kenzie still asks about her on a daily basis, they were very close.

8. Found out.......I'M PREGNANT with baby number TWO!  Due August 15 2013...Kenzie and squish will be 5 years apart so I'm literally sending one to school and starting all over again.

2013 is gonna be a good good year for us.  So many exciting things lined up like Tonya's wedding, Jessie's wedding, and Courtney's wedding. Sister in law (Marilyn) is having a baby, Sister is having a baby and BFF Carrie Lynn is having a baby!!  Buying a house (crossing fingers this time will be easy peasy) sending Kenzie to Kindergarten and adding a new baby to our house.
